Founded in 1961, Rosewood Dairy, Inc.—producer of Renard’s Cheese—is a fourth-generation, family-owned creamery located in Wisconsin, the heart of America’s dairy country. For more than six decades, the company has built its reputation on craftsmanship, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to quality. All milk used in Renard’s cheeses is sourced from family-owned farms within a 20-mile radius of the creamery. These farms benefit from the exceptional water quality of Door County’s limestone aquifers and nutrient-rich feed, resulting in milk with naturally high levels of butterfat, protein, and solids—key components of premium cheese. Renard’s cheeses are handcrafted in small open-vat batches ranging from 250 to 1,500 pounds. Skilled cheesemakers closely monitor pH, temperature, moisture, and texture throughout production to ensure consistent excellence. The company retains high levels of natural butterfat and proteins to deliver rich, creamy textures and full flavor profiles. Premium fruits, vegetables, and seasonings are used in all flavor-infused varieties. Rosewood Dairy is also home to Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker Chris Renard, certified in both Cheddar and Mozzarella. Wisconsin’s Master Cheesemaker program is the only one of its kind in the United States, requiring more than a decade of experience, rigorous coursework, and continuous quality evaluation. This distinction reflects the company’s dedication to both tradition and innovation. Equally committed to its workforce, Rosewood Dairy invests in structured apprenticeship programs that support career advancement from entry-level roles to licensed and Master Cheesemaker positions.
