Cabot Creamery, founded in 1919, has its roots in Cabot, Vermont. We are a cooperative, which means the 1,100 farm family members throughout New England and upstate New York own it, and 100% of profits go to the farmers. As employers and dairy farmers, we still honor the frugal values of those bygone times. Over the years, Cabot has thrived and grown through the hard work, collaborative spirit, and persistent commitment of their family farm owners throughout New England and upstate New York who raise their herds to produce quality milk.

Meet the Cheesemakers

Cabot Cheesemakers

In addition to running their dairy business along with son David and his wife, Asia, Beth and Bob Kennett have hosted guests on their picturesque farm for decades. Visitors come from all over to experience the daily rhythm of farm life and explore the natural beauty of the area. Each day is bookended by wholesome home-cooked breakfasts and dinners around the big farmhouse table. Many families make it an annual tradition. "We have made the most phenomenal friendships," Beth says, "the world has come to us." The five-story barn at Liberty Hill Farm dates back to the 1780s and is crowned by a cow-shaped weather vane. The Kennetts, who both came from families with deep farming heritage, first fell in love with Liberty Hill when on their honeymoon in the area, but it was not for sale. A few years later, fate brought them back to the farm, which was then on the market. They wrote a check for $500 - "all the money we had," says Beth - and never looked back.
